New Printers from Lexmark
Lexmark has released a complete new range of AIO printers which use the new Lexmark #100 Series individual cartridges. It's quite a change for Lexmark who traditionally have been selling black and colour tri-colour cartridges with built in printheads. The Lexmark #100 cartridges are all individual ink tanks and the printhead is part of the printer not the cartridge.
New AIO Models
Impact S305 - RRP $179.00
Interpret S405 - RRP $199.00
Intuition S505 - RRP $249.00
Interact S605 - RRP $399.00
Prospect Pro205 - RRP $299.00
Prevail Pro705 - RRP $399.00
Prestige Pro805 - RRP $499.00
Platinum Pro905 - RRP $599.00
The above AIOs all use the new Lexmark #100 series cartridges, so I would expect these cartridges to be quite popular in a few months times. Lexmark still has 'return program' versions of these cartridges which is not good news. Like the HP564 cartridges, lexmark also has the normal capacity and also a XL version.
A quick look at the internet reveals the current prices for the 'return program versions'. I would expect the non return program cartridges to be more expensive that the prices listed below.
Lexmark 100 Black - $25.00
Lexmark 100 Cyan - $15.00
Lexmark 100 Magenta - $15.00
Lexmark 100 Yellow - $15.00
Lexmark 100XL Black - $35.00
Lexmark 100XL Cyan - $25.00
Lexmark 100XL Magenta - $25.00
Lexmark 100XL Yellow - $25.00
We will be very soon investigating these printers and cartridges and will have more detailed information about the cartridges soon. Stay tuned!
Filling Procolor 73N and 81N Cartridges Under Vacuum
It may sound strange, but you can actually fill the above mentioned cartridges under vacuum using the Brother refill tools. Follow the simple steps to fill :
1) Make sure there is enough ink in the brother refill tool.
2) Insert a Bc03 Reusable Black plug into the cartridge vent hole.
3) Insert the brother refill tool connection into the fill position of the cartridge - push in until a firm seal.
4) Insert brother refill tool connected to the cartridge into the vacuum filling chamber. (No syringe needed)
5) Turn Vacuum pump on until high vacuum.
6) Release vacuum and the cartridge will fill as the system is venting.
7) Reset the chip with the Procolor 9 Pin chip resetter.
