Introducing Ausjet Professional Colour
Why? As you may be aware any product we sell is of the highest quality and we pre-test most products before offering them for sale. By branding our products under the Ausjet banner you can be assured that everything with the Ausjet name on it will be a quality product.
We believe that our new range of inkjet compatibles with updated specifications will give you a marked advantage over all other competitors in the market place.
-
Most cartridges will have maximum fill capacity. Most cartridges will produce more prints than most other compatibles in the market place
-
Superior Australian designed 350gsm full colour glossy packaging which clearly shows the correct OEM sku number and a picture (where practical) of the cartridge. Also to save valuable shelf space most packaging has been reduced to the smallest size.
-
Dye ink components are sourced from a top class German manufacturer which will ensure premium quality prints that are as close as you can get to the original cartridge
-
The majority of new inkjet compatibles in the market place use a dye based ink (cheaper) even though the original OEM cartridge may be filled with pigment ink. We have now specified pigment inks (where practical) in those skus where the OEM uses pigment. This means that the prints are closer to the original which is UV resistant and waterproof. This is a huge selling advantage for you over other compatible cartridges in the market place.
-
We have also specified that sponge based cartridges use a premium sponge from Germany that has the same hydrophilic and hydrophobic qualities as the OEM cartridge which ensures better flow.
-
All our inkjet compatibles only use the latest chips. Did you know that on some Epson and Canon new compatibles that display ?Extra Ink? etc the end user will not get the extra prints because the chip determines the number of prints that the cartridge will produce? Our specified chips ensure that the maximum number of prints possible will be achieved.
-
The very best compatible chips for some Epson cartridges are now available. These chips are so advanced that the customer will receive the same messages as the OEM cartridge. Most other compatible cartridges will only display an ?ink out? message or even worse ?Cartridge not recognised? error when the cartridge runs out of ink. With the Ausjet Professional Colour series the customer will receive ?ink low? warnings followed by ?ink out?.
-
Exceptional print quality has now been achieved which we believe exceeds any other new compatible cartridge in the marketplace.
BEST NEWS OF ALL!
ALL OF THE ABOVE HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WITHOUT ANY INCREASE IN PRICING TO YOU!
NB; please be patient with us while we run down current stock of the old Procolor series. There may be instances where there may be a mix of new and old packaging.
Ausjet is a wholesale only company and does not retail any of its products to end users. All enquiries for our products will be referred to an Ausjet products retailer.

Technical Bulletin : Trade Expos 2011
The Giant and the Tale of Two Cities
Welcome to the Giant and the Tale of Two Cities. The following is an overview of the last six weeks where I have had the good fortune to attend numerous trade shows, visit many suppliers and gather further important information on future exciting new products.
It's been a very busy time with two trips to China, attending two industry trade shows, visiting suppliers, testing products, customer information nights, product training and factory tours.
You may be thinking why a "Giant". Well its quite simple really, in the days leading up to the China trip. My best mate's daughter started calling me 'Giant' and Sue, who I'm sure you have all spoken to before, would often say to me 'wouldn't you be a giant in China'? So I thought it would be a suitable title with me visiting the two cities been Zhuhai and Shanghai in China.
The reality is in China at times I do feel like a giant. Taxis and Buses are all a very tight squeeze and if I go clothes shopping its nearly impossible. One previous trip I tried to find a jumper and after many attempts I decided it was best to look for that warehouse that was marked 'export sizes only'. I had no luck finding that either and after many more pizza and beer nights I knew that if somehow my luggage got lost then I really would be in trouble!
I have also been called many other names in my time but lets leave that story for another time!
GRIGA
On October 12th Dermot and I attended the Global Remanufacturing Industry General Assembly (GRIGA). There was 142 delegates from Australia, Ireland, Germany, Russia, USA, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, UK, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and India.
The aim of GRIGA is to enhance worldwide understanding of trends, directions and standards in the development of the copier and printer consumables aftermarket. Another purpose is to share the experience of promoting eco-friendly, remanufactured products and the remanufacturing philosophy to the public, thereby promoting the healthy and steady development of the reman industry around the globe.
GRIGA was hosted by Art Diamond, an industry veteran and one of the most respected in the industry.
The GRIGA was well represented with many cartridge remanufacturing associations including our own ACRA (Australasian Cartridge Remanufacturing Association). A number of industry magazines from USA, Spain and Russia were also represented.
Regional updates were presented on the following regions:
- China
- Eastern Europe
- India
- Australia (ACRA)
- Spain
- UK
- USA
Panel discussions included:
- Color Printing & Firmware Upgrade
- Biotoner & Chemical Toners
- Key Trends Shaping Global Hardware and Supplies Markets by Charles Brewer
- Legal Updates by Ed O'Connor
- Global Conversations - The Aftermarket Printer Consumable Industry by Sharon Williams
- GRIGA Consumer Education Program
The other main purpose of the day was about how to market the remanufacturing industry worldwide and how to educate users that remanufacturing is an option. There were various ideas and marketing proposals but at the end of the day the money that was required as been needed for a worldwide campaign is out of reach of the industry at this time.
GRIGA was followed by the Gala Dinner. The dinner featured the launch of 'In Touch News' a new weekly online TV program about the printer consumables industry. In Touch News is hosted by our own and much slimmed down David Gibbons who many of you may know as a former remanufacturer and ACRA Director. The In Touch Weekly news can be found at visitremax.com.cn
Remax Asia Pacific (CIFEX) Zhuhai China
On the days following after GRIGA we attended the Remax (CIFEX) Asia Pacific show in Zhuhai, China. As you are probably aware this is an annual show and is now the largest for this industry in the world. There were 422 exhibitors and 9893 visitors at the CIFEX show. These visitors were from over 80 countries and regions.
Zhuhai, Shenzhen and other nearby cities are considered the worldwide epi-centre of the aftermarket printer consumables industry. You could spend months visiting all the printer consumable manufacturer / remanufacturer factories in this area.
The Remax/CIFEX show had a wide range of exhibitors covering the complete spectrum of aftermarket products such as compatible cartridges, remanufactured cartridges, electronic chip manufacturers, filling machines, testing equipment, toner manufacturers, ink manufacturers, inkjet and laser paper manufacturers, Printer manufacturers, CISS systems, refillable cartridges. This is a quick list and gives you an idea of how comprehensive this expo was.
We spent a great deal of time at this expo discussing some very exciting products that are under lock and key for the moment but will be released very soon.
A unique product released at Remax was the Pantum multifunction laser printer. Pantum is the first desktop laser printer manufacturer in China and is manufactured from one of the largest aftermarket cartridge manufacturers. Reports are that their printer and multifuction units will be available soon in Australia.
Rugby World Cup
While we were in China the Rugby World Cup was on in New Zealand. Unless you are in Hong Kong Rugby in China is not too well publicised. We had to gather results where we could which was a little frustrating for Dermot as he's a big fan of the game.
Dermot with a few nationalities under his belt had the luxury of cheering on three teams, Ireland, South Africa and Australia. Even now I can get a little confused interpreting the result of his three accents
I will give you an example it's not uncommon to hear 'Sell Sell' in our office which I believe when translated means 'sink sink'. This is of course means to scull two coldies as quick as you can!! Maybe I'm wrong as no beer is ever supplied following these words! It's all very confusing for me.... or maybe he's simple calling out to Selwyn. This is my dilemma!
By the way congratulations to the All Blacks who were deserving winners!
Rechina Asia Expo
After a brief rest back in Australia I was off once again to China. On November 15th - 17th I attended the Rechina Asia Expo in Shanghai China. The Rechina Asia expo was held in the Shanghai new international expo centre which is a very modern expo centre with 20-30 halls inside. The Rechina show was held in two halls with approx 250 exhibitors. I'm not sure about the claimed 8000 visitors!
Quite a few of the exhibitors also exhibited at CIFEX. There were also some exhibitors from the USA and many from Shanghai and Beijing that we had never had any contact with before.
One area where the Rechina was a little different than CIFEX was that it included office machinery as well. There was also a wide range of new label printers from various manufacturers including one powered by memjet technology. It looks like memjet is finally gathering some traction in the higher end markets. Memjet desktop printers are now available in Korea from LG and soon available in China from Lenovo. The price we have been quoted for the LG model is approx US $800. The postal application version is considerably more expensive because of the various add-on peripherals.
From an aftermarket point of view if memjet desktop models do come to our region I know of two inkjet ink manufacturers who have already developed an ink for it. But of course all the models are currently chipped and this has yet to be cracked. But from a technology point of view its great to see memjet technology which was developed here in Australia making some headway.
At the Remax and Rechina we discovered many new products:
-
Point of Sale Inkjet Printable - Photo Books, Calendars, Inkjet Canvas with frame, Balloons and Albums.
-
A Resetting solution for PG40\CL41 (Pg510\CL511) coming soon!! very exciting!! (in testing)
-
Resetter for new 7 pin Epson chips (in testing)
-
Universal resetter for Canon Pgi-5 \ 520 \ 525 series black and colour cartridges (in testing)
-
New Remanufactured PG512 \ CL513 (in stock now)
- Many other products and improvements that are under lock and key at the moment.
The All in Print Expo
The All in Print expo was held at the new International Expo Centre just across the way from the Rechina expo. The expo was a large exhibition at around 80 000 square metres and around the 100 000 mark for visitors.
Exhibitors Profiles
- Prepress Equipment and Software
- Printing Equipment
- Packaging Printing Equipment
- Post-press Converting, Decoration and Finishing Equipment
- Prepress, Printing and Post-press Auxiliary Equipment, Parts and Components
- Printing Consumables such as Printing Paper, Ink, Plate, Blanket, etc
It was quite an interesting visit seeing the various printing presses and it was interesting to see the various different inks and what they were used for. It's not our direct market but we did find some companies with products in fields that we have been researching.
Wide Format and Sign Printers
While in China I was lucky enough to be trained in Wide Format printers and Sign Printers. The training was conducted at the Chinese factory of one of the most respected US wide format ink manufacturers . They have been manufacturing premium high grades inkjet inks for over 17 years. The lead ink formulator has over 35 years experience in inkjet ink development including many years in inkjet ink formulation for kodak.
At the training we covered the following areas:
-
Introduction to Wide Format Printers
-
Maintenance of Wide Format Printers
-
Converting wide format printers to CISS with Decoders
-
Understanding the Wide Format Customers Needs
-
Different wide format Inks ? UV Dye, UV Pigment, Solvent, Eco-Solvent
-

-
Generating ICC Color Profiles for Specific Papers and Inks
-
Compatible Cartridges
-
CISS for wide format
-
Refillable Cartridges
- Wide Format Manufacturers and Printhead Configurations

The Giants Homecoming
I must say congratulations to the under 12 Australian Futsal Team (which is indoor soccer) who were aboard the flight from Hong Kong to Brissie. They had a very successful tour of China by all reports.
One of the first things I did when I arrived home was dig into an Australian favourite the good old meat pie. Then a couple of hours snooze followed by the Ausjet Christmas Dinner.
No rest for the wicked!!
A Giant Giggle
While flying in China on one of the major domestic airlines I realised something. The advertisement on the back of the seat didn't seem quite right. It was in English but one of the words stood out.
It was an advertisement for a resort and I believe what should have read 'a perfect nice destination' was in fact written ' a perfect mice destination'. I don't know if this was a joke or just some cultural difference but it did make my flight that much more entertaining.
I hope this information has been helpful to you.

What is Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB)?
Digital radio is a new, exciting and involving way for you to tune into your favourite radio stations. Traditionally radio programs were broadcast on different frequencies via FM and AM analogue signals. While AM/FM radio quality can suffer from interference caused by signals bouncing off walls, buildings, hills and other structures, it used up a comparatively large amount of spectrum for a relatively small number of stations, limiting your listening choices. DAB works by turning both sound and data into digital signals at transmission, and then decoding them at the other end using digital radio receivers. The result is close-to-CD-quality sound output and much more available programs.
Offering an exceptionally high sound and signal quality, digital radio offers a range of exciting features to enhance your listening experience.
Clearer sound and improved reception
Extra channels potentially doubles the number of commercial stations
Tuning by station name, not frequency, making it easy to find favourite stations
