Latest Sensient Bulk Inks and Compatibility Guide
Ausjet has been providing remanufacturers in Australia with Sensient inks now for over 15 years. Sensient has a qualiity reputation which is unrivalled in the cartridge remanufacturing industry.
Recently there have been a number of new inks released as new cartridges arrive in the market. Sensient has also eliminated many of their older inks for those cartridges that we rarely see. Therefore we thought this was the perfect opportunity to release our new inks and an updated compatibility chart.
For those new to Sensient inks we though we would quickly list some of the benefits of using these inks :
- Black Pigment inks with S.M.A.R.T patented technology. Fine edge definition with good rub resistance, lightfastness and water resistance. Has all the traditional traits of a pigment ink but doesn't contain the resins that many pigments do allowing the dried ink to be cleaned easier.
- Colour Pigment inks for those printers designed for office durability. Sensient colour pigment inks are bright in colour with accurate match to the OEM. They offer the same rub resistance, lightfastness and water resistance as their black counterpart. Traditional colour pigment inks are dull in colour but advances in technology now allow Sensient to offer bright, colourful pigments with colour print quality approaching that of a premium dye.
- Dye inks with very accurate colour match to the OEM and good lightfastness. Modern inkjet printers are all capable of photographic reproduction and it's critical to have accurate colour match to the OEM. Sensient dye inks have this and are suitable for the high demands of photographic work.
- Multi-cartridge inks which are suitable for a wide range of cartridges allowing you to stock less inks but still having inks with the right properties and quality.
- Low foam inks which is important for a number of reasons during printing but for those filling under vacuum it's of critical importance.
- Manufacturer of highly purified colorants for inkjet inks. This allows much more control than other ink manufacturers that buy dyes and pigments from other manufacturers. It also gives them the flexibility to design leading edge ink technology.

Sensient's latest inks for the Canon Cli-651 cyan and yellow cartridges. These inks matched with the H564M produce a very accurate colour match to the OEM cartridges with good lightfastness.
H7WL7
This latest pigment ink is designed for the new series of professional printers from HP. Featuring S.M.A.R.T patented technology it is suitable for the HP932, HP940, HP950 and HP970 black cartridges. The latest technology produces jet black prints with high edge defintion, high rub resistance and low highlighter smear.

You will find new inks and a few changes to cartridge compatibility as some of the very old ink products are no longer manufactured. We recommend you download the cartridge compatibility chart.

Important Benefits of the Ausjet Remanufactured PG640XL and CL641 Cartridges
These Ausjet remanufactured cartridges has a complimentary chip installed which restores the ink level system. This means upon first installation of this cartridge the ink level will be detected as full and will continue to function correctly until it registers out of ink. Unlike other aftermarket cartridges where it is necessary for button combinations to be employed to override the printer.
Our new chip unlike others in the market removes the uncertainty of not working as it performs the same way as a new OEM cartridge installation. Our new cartridges perform just like a new OEM, install and print!
Don't worry be happy!

Technical Bulletin 24th April 2014
We have recently discovered that the following printers are incompatible with the current aftermarket chips. It's important to note this information so you can make the right choices for your customers.
HP950/951 cartridge incompatibility with new printer models
Printer Models:
Officejet 8610 / 8620 / 8630 / 8640 / 8660
Officejet 8615 / 8625 / 8635 / 8645 / 8665
The problem is two fold :
1) Original cartridges with a expiry date before October 2014 will recognise as a 'old cartridge' and will not work. (Click here for more information)
2) Aftermarket chips will register as a 'old cartridge' and will not work.

HP564 and Photosmart 5520 firmware problem
Photosmart 5520 printers purchased in the last few months will not accept compatible cartridges or remanufactured cartridges with aftermarket chips. The reason is that a new firmware version is being deployed with the later printers. A printer purchased before this timeframe will accept the existing chips unless of course the customer has installed the firmware update.
The good news is that the problem has already been solved with a new version of a chip just released. We will keep you updated and let you know asap when the solution is here in our inky little hands.

Technical Bulletin 1st April 2014
Brother Resetter for LC-131 / 133 / 135 / 137/ 139
In the Technical bulletin on the 14th of October 2014 we mentioned that we were testing a resetter for Brother cartridges and we were a little perplexed as the printer would just reset the cartridges automatically.
Since that time Brother has released the LC-131 range of cartridges which is installed in their new low cost multi-function printers. What has become obvious is that the LC-131 cartridges can be filled but the chip is locking the cartridge out after the 1st or 2nd refill.
Different printers, cartridges and customers printing patterns may have an affect on how many fills are capable before it is locked out. We don't have definitive information but the LC-131 models are certainly locking out much quickly than the LC-137 and LC-135 models.
We would highly recommend to use the Brother resetter for the LC-131/133/157/137/139 cartridges. The resetter will override the lock out and restores ink levels eliminating potential problems and produce big smiling customers.
Canon PGI-650 / 651 Resetter update
Every week we are checking with various manufacturers on their progress with this much demanded resetter. The reply is still that it's in development and there is no timeframe for its release. Going by previous releases we would normally expect a resetter to be released 3-6 months after the aftermarket chip has been released.
It does not appear that this resetter is following that pattern. You may be curious how they create a chip but not a resetter. I don't have all the nuts and bolts of it but apparently it's much harder to create the programming for the resetter than to develop the chip. The market for aftermarket chips would also be much larger than the market for the resetters. Maybe this has some influence as well!
We now offer replacement XL chips for the Canon 650/651 for those customers who wish to offer a quality remanufactured cartridge to their customers. The chip is from the same manufacturer as our Ausjet Professional Colour chip which has been extremely reliable with no recognition issues. The only difference is that the depth of the chip board has been reduced significantly so it can fit the OEM cartridge correctly.
OEM Inkjet Chip Sizes reducing Significantly
Have you noticed how the OEM Inkjet chips from Canon and HP have reduced significantly in length, width and depth recently. The OEM chips on the HP932/933 and HP950/951 are a tiny fraction of the size as previous models. The Canon PGI-650/651 chips now use a small flexible circuit board, similar in nature to what you would find on the electronics of their printhead cartridges.
What will come next?
Can new 3D Printing technology really print GOLD
Recently I was reading a few articles on the latest technology in 3D printing and came across a small advertisement in the corner of a website. The advertisement read 'LATEST TECHNOLOGY, demonstration of prototype gold printing using 3D printing technology'.
The website looked quite plain in appearance with minimal text, a video and some contact details. The video showed some really clever new 3D printing technology printing using up to 12 filaments at one time! The majority of 3D printers only use one filament which is normally a low melt type of plastic.
The twelve filaments are explained to be all of different chemical compositions and are patent pending. A mixture of the twelve filaments and the heating process of the printhead makes a product that looks and feels like gold but is not as dense. It was stated that 99% of people will be fooled by the appearance and feel of the gold printed by the machine.
They could never make the money tree but but it looks like they how found a way to make a office gold mine. Amazing stuff!
The video is available for viewing. Click here to view
I hope this information has been helpful to you.
